Spotify users accustomed to amassing a wealthy horde of downloaded music will have ample reason to rejoice. According to a report from Rolling Stone, the streaming giant is planning to rollout a new update, set to nullify pre-existing download limitations. While the original download limit was set at 3,333 songs across three devices, this new one will essentially triple the total available downloads.
The company explained their decision to Rolling Stone, officially confirming the change in the process. "At Spotify, we’re always working on improving the experience for our users. We can now confirm that we have increased the number of offline tracks per device — from 3,333 on three devices to 10,000 tracks per device for up to five devices."
Many felt that Spotify's original limit was stifling, and wanted more freedom to expand on their gargantuan music vault. Now, the company has granted their wishes and then some. It's not entirely the same as collecting a physical music library, but it seems as if Spotify is doing the extra work to satisfy the collectors. You've gotta respect that.
