The power couple of Beyonce and Jay-Z were in the house for Golden State's epic beatdown of a confident New Orleans Pelicans squad. Rajon and his teammates were certain to push the pace, after insisting throughout the first round they were more than a "feel good story." Klay Thompson who scored a game high 27 points, admitted as much, saying the Pelicans don't give much in the way of respite: "It's like, you make a bucket, you can't relax. You have to sprint back, find a shooter and they are pushing the tempo. It's a whole different ballgame."That level of coverage may wear thin, the Warriors are not incapable of breaking down, it just so happens students of the game have not yet found an answer to their volume scoring. The 2016 loss to Cleveland is still hotly debated to this day. Jay-Z and Beyonce were in on the fun, albeit on neutral grounds: Jay-Z in a neatly pressed outfit, Beyonce in a flowy dress to match her voluminous hair. History suggests the Pelicans have very few famous fans. An extended run in the playoffs could go a long way in cementing their claim, but beware: Steph Curry is expected to return as early as Game 2.
