A drama series based on the life of Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant has officially been picked up by Apple. Dubbed "Swagger," the scripted basketball drama is inspired by Durant's AAU playing days, according to a report by Variety.
The upcoming series, which was actually put into development back in February, will be produced by Bryan Grazer and Ron Howard's Imagine Television and will be written by Reggie Rock Bythewood, according to the report. Durant will executive produce via his Thirty Five Media company, alongside Grazer, Imagine’s Francie Calfo and Thirty Five Media’s Rich Kleiman.
The series will reportedly dive into KD's AAU experience in Maryland and explore AAU hoops in the D.C. area as a whole, as well as the lives of several AAU players, their families and coaches.
After making a name for himself on the AAU circuit, Durant played one season of college ball for the University of Texas, where he won the Naismith and Wooden awards as well as the Rupp Trophy. He averaged 25.8 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game in the 2006-07 season before declaring for the NBA draft, where he was selected No. 2 overall by the Seattle Supersonics.

Since then, Durant has been named NBA Rookie of the Year, NBA MVP (2013-14) and is a two-time NBA Finals MVP. The nine-time All-Star, now in his third season with the Warriors, is currently averaging 30 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game.
