Ella Mai will grace Studio 8H on November 17th, continuing her year of success. Mai and her honey sweet vocals will take the stage as Saturday Night Live's musical guest next weekend. Steve Carell will tag along to perform hosting duties, and undoubtedly feature in several hilarious skits. It will be his third time hosting the series. If we're lucky, the two celebrities will end up in the same sketch, but that's wishful thinking.
According to Billboard, Ella Mai's hit single "Boo'd Up" peaked at number 5 on the Hot 100 charts, followed by "Trip," which hit number 11. Saturday Night Live has kept their musical line-up closely aligned with hip-hop culture this year, with Kanye West and Travis Scott grabbing appearances early in the season. Lil Wayne will act as the musical guest for this upcoming weekend, which will be Tunechi's first performance on the show since 2010.
Ella Mai is signed to DJ Mustard's 10 Summers label. She was born in London, but moved to New York as a little girl before returning to the UK after school completed. This will be her first performance on Saturday Night Live, but if she continues at this pace, it will not be her last.
