All three Rookie of the Year finalists from the 2018 season will start with the same player rating in NBA 2K19, as 2K Sports has revealed that Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, and the reigning Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons are all 87 overall.
Earlier this week, the NBA 2K19 twitter account revealed a handful of ratings, including those for Tatum and Mitchell, as well as Kawhi Leonard and DeMar DeRozan. Last night, on the eve of Simmons' 22nd birthday, 2K Sports announced that the Australian cover athlete boasts an 87 rating just like his rookie counterparts. Thus far, LeBron James, the 20th Anniversary Edition cover athlete, sits atop everyone with a 98 overall rating.
Like most players, Simmons feels his 87 rating is lower than it should be.
The NBA 2K19 Standard Edition, featuring Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo on the cover, will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 system, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC platforms on September 11th. Purchasing the 20th Anniversary Edition of NBA 2K19 ($99.99) will give you early access to the game on September 7th in both digital and physical on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and digitally on Windows PC.
