In March, LiAngelo, the middle child of Lavar Ball, declared his intentions to enter the 2018 NBA Draft, and forego any seasoning he could undergo overseas. LiAngelo and his brother LaMelo both played over a dozen games in the Lithuanian First Division before tempers flared between father LaVar and the head coach responsible for the rest of his team. After flaming out in Lithuania, LiAngelo had little choice but declare for the draft, after recusing himself the privilege of an NCAA career.
After the shoplifting incident in China put a damper on his collegiate career, the Big Baller Brand has explored all avenues of player development to ensure the siblings all come together on an NBA roster in the years to come. The only issue is that LiAngelo, unlike his brothers LaMelo and Lonzo, does not enough upside in his game to merit the attention. His draft announcement was met with raised eyesbrows by generally everyone in the sporting community, save for his father who's been clamoring since day one.
According to Alex Kennedy, a writer for HoopsHype, LiAngelo Ball has private workouts scheduled with the Los Angeles Lakers (his brother's team), the Los Angeles Clippers and the Golden State Warriors. He has undergone a sit-down interview with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns, and is believed to be a consideration for the Lakers should he fall outside the Draft, and become available on the free agent market.
