Like a solar-powered lamp in the middle of perpetual sunlight, Tee Grizzley's "moment" has yet to fade. The Detroit rapper, fresh off a pair of drops last year (though it still feels slightly pretentious to refer to 2018 as last year), has decided to set 2019 off with a little bit of momentum. Today, Tee comes through with some new visuals for the album's fifth track "We Dreamin," opting for a return to basics in the Diego helmed visuals. Juxtaposing his own upward rise with the inner city struggle, highlighted here by a young single mother and her son.
Unfortunately, the clip takes a tragic turn, as the son finds himself lured into the trappings of an illicit lifestyle. It's clear that Grizzley is speaking from a place of experience; as fans know, the rapper previously did a bid for breaking and entering, which ultimately proved a strange blessing. After all, without his trajectory bringing him so close to the bottom, we'd never have received the breakout single "First Day Out." Peep the new video from Grizzley now.
