Earlier this week, a photo started making the rounds of actor Jet Li looking different than the man we're used to seeing in the movies. The Lethal Weapon 4 star looked frail and approximately 20 years older than his age. He is currently 55-years old but people were astonished at how old Li looked with his appearance being attributed to his hyperthyroidism and heart condition. While hyperthyroidism is treatable, the condition cannot be cured. After all the commotion, Jet Li's manager has responded to all the talk about his client, assuring us all that Li is doing just fine.
Speaking with the Washington Post, Li's manager is saying that the image making the rounds is simply a bad photo of a 55-year-old man. "He has hyperthyroidism that he’s been dealing with for almost 10 years. It’s nothing life-threatening and he’s dealing with it," said Li's manager, Steven Chasman, before adding that he's "all well and good." While the actor has not commented on the photos himself, the Washington Post is noting that Jet Li has suffered injuries to his spine and legs after years of intense action shooting for action films, causing him to be unable to stand for long periods of time.
It is great to hear that the Beijing-born martial artist is doing alright as he had many of his fans worried. If you have not yet seen the photo, check it out below.
