Lil Wayne and Rick Ross' music has been pulled from WUVS 103.7's airwaves until they formally apologize for their offensive lyrics.

Rick Ross made headlines this week, due to the criticism over his lyrics where he alluded to date rape. Ross then dismissed the claims as a misunderstanding, attempting to defend himself with the seemingly irrelevant argument that he never actually used the word "rape" on the record. Due to Ross' lack of apology for the line, Michigan’s WUVS 103.7 radio station has pulled his music from the airwaves, along with Lil Wayne's, who also never issued an apology for his controversial "Emmett Till" lyric.

The station issued the following statement.

“Effective immediately Muskegon’s WUVSlp 103.7 the Beat has pulled ALL Lil Wayne and Rick Ross music from rotation. We pride ourselves on playing music that is non-degrading and non-violent. While we believe in freedom of speech, creative writing and individualism, we refuse to be part of the problem by spreading messages that could harm or end someone’s life,”

Neither of the rapper's have commented on the ban, but whether or not the station has any influence, it seems that the negative talk will not cease if Ross continues to skirt around the subject.
