Jordan Brand is honoring Carmelo Anthony's "Hoodie Melo" alter ego with a special edition colorway of his first signature sneaker, the Jordan Melo 1.5. According to reports, the limited edition kicks will release via Nike SNKRS and other select Jordan Brand retailers on May 1st.
The "Hoodie Melo" Jordan Melo 1.5 comes dressed in an all black colorway, which serves as a nod to the hoodie that Carmelo wore during the off-season, as seen in countless instagram videos.
The upper consists of tech fleece, furthering the hoodie vibe, as well as some OKC-flavored branding, while the heel unit and ankle collar feature "a reverse loop tolling" that is reminiscent of the inside of a hoodie. Lastly, the sneakers will come with a Jumpman hangtag which accompanied the original release back in 2004.
The kicks will be available in both men's and grade school sizes on May 1st. OKC's season may be over at the point, as the Thunder trail the Jazz 3-2 heading into tonight's Game 6 in Utah.
