A staple when it comes to film franchises and science fiction, Godzilla has been around for years. The fictional Japanese monster has been portrayed in countless retellings of his story and the next instance of his star power will appear next year as part of Godzilla: King of the Monsters. With San Diego Comic-Con beginning today, so many treasures are being revealed to us about a few of the most anticipated films from next year. The event is in full swing and we were lucky enough to receive a brand new teaser from the upcoming Godzilla film, starring Millie Bobby Brown of Stranger Things, that we can take in and enjoy until the next is revealed.
In the clip, Millie signals a radio device and attempts to communicate with somebody. Her hands are bandaged and she looks frightened. As she gathers her thoughts, she finally gets it out that she's trying to reach Monarch, the monster-hunting organization. As expected, the call doesn't go too well as she does end up reaching contact with somebody but it doesn't seem all too pleased to be found out. The teaser was shared on Millie's Instagram page and you can view it below via Gamespot.
Leaving us hanging, we won't know what comes next until the film is released. As a film scholar, I feel obligated to point out that the continuity of the scene is off as the bandages on Millie's hands disappear midway through the video. Regardless, it still has us incredibly pumped about the film. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is set to release May 31, 2019.
