The French designer is not impressed with Kim's newest fragrance design.

Kim Kardashian recently unveiled a perfume bottle that is modelled after her famous figure. The design circulated like wildfire throughout the Internet, eventually raising questions about its authenticity. People on Twitter were to quick to note an uncanny resemblance to a perfume bottle created for a Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance back in 1993, which similarly showcased a curvaceous female torso.

In response, an associate working at the designer's atelier posted a photo on Instagram displaying the label's iconic bottle with a caption that read "Keeping up with the fragrance news! #Classique" which clearly references Kim's reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians

Kardashian then spoke with Cosmopolitan to debunk the widespread accusations that she intentionally copied the famed French courtier. "Sculptures were my inspiration, but I love that bottle," she admits. "It's iconic and celebrates the woman’s body, but my inspiration was a statue. I wanted [mine] to be really personal with my exact mold, but I’ve always loved the Gaultier bottles."

Furthermore, Kardashian notes how the impression taken for her fragrance will be used for a life-sized sculpture as well. "We were making a mold of my body for the fragrance, but we were also making it to make a big sculpture," and admits that she is undecided where she will display the finished product."
