J.I.D teams up with Cole Bennett for the release of "Off Deez."

J.I.D entered 2018 as one artist to keep an eye out for. Although he didn't release a whole lot of music this year, with the exception of a few collabs, he delivered his new project, DiCaprio 2 to rave reviews last week. The project included features from some of the biggest artists like 6lack, Ella Mai and of course, Dreamville head honcho J. Cole who appears on "Off Deez." Following the release of DiCaprio 2, J.I.D is getting ready to drop the music video for the J. Cole-assisted single.

J.I.D is getting ready to release the first set of visuals off of DiCaprio 2 tomorrow. The rapper shared a short teaser for the music video for "Off Deez" featuring J. Cole. The video was directed by Lyrical Lemonade's Cole Bennett and is expected to drop tomorrow. The short teaser features Bennett's signature post-production animation while Cole and J.I.D are seen in black-and-white.

J.I.D recently shared the story behind the track. The rapper revealed that Cole wasn't his first pick for the project, nor was he the second. J.I.D initially aimed to get Kendrick on the track, and when that didn't work out, he reached out to his fellow XXL Freshmen, Ski Mask The Slump God. Unfortunately, Kendrick just hit the road on the "Championship" tour with TDE and Ski Mask got busy and was dealing with the death of XXXTENTACION.

“Then I sent it to Cole like, ‘You fuck with this record? It’s hard, right? I’m bout to kill it and do the second verse,” he told Bossip. "He’s like, 'Hey, save me a lil piece on there,’ and I’m like, ‘What? You wanna get on this one?’ And we got shit, but he was just moved when he heard it."
