Mac's grandma receives quite the reception at Blue Slide Park.

Mac Miller's grandmother was in attendance at his public vigil in Pittsburgh's Frick Park. While a petition was making the rounds around the park grounds, the late rapper's grandmother Marcia Weiss took the podium for a quick thank you message for those who made the trip.

"Everybody, he would be so excited, he wished he was here and I wish he was here," Weiss said to thousands in attendance. "But he loves you all, he loves Pittsburgh and everything you have done for him. Thank you so much for everybody being here. You were wonderful."

The decision to hold the vigil at Blue Slide Park, allowed for Mac's life to come full circle. In 2011, he dedicated his debut album to the vigil site, before it gained its significance through his intervention. Blue Slide is merely a section of Pittsburgh's Frick Park, the largest of its kind in the city.

As well as other scenes from the vigil.

Many of the attendees who witnessed Weiss' speech showed their respect for Miller and his family by forming a row of flowers and hand-signed cards. Miller's cause of death is still being withheld from the public, as a matter of principle.
