Hip-hop is still reeling in the loss of Mac Miller. The Pittsburgh rapper and producer passed away at the age of 26 from an apparent overdose. Fans, peers and family members were flooding timelines with tributes to the late rapper once the news broke out. Now, MTV is reportedly planning their own tribute by re-airing episodes of "Mac Miller and The Most Dope Family" in the future.
According to The Blast, MTV sources have said they're bringing back episodes of Mac Miller's reality show to their network in the coming weeks to air as a tribute to the late rapper. Mac and his team made two seasons of the show which ran from 2012 to 2014 and followed him as he moved to Los Angeles and worked on his upcoming album. Several of his close collaborators and friends made appearances in the show such as ScHoolboy Q, Macklemore, and Ab-Soul.
At this point, MTV doesn't have concrete details surrounding the tribute just yet. However, they also have other ways they plan to pay tribute to the late rapper. The network has reportedly been collecting and putting together archival footage of Mac Miller as a way to pay homage to him.
In addition to MTV's tribute, Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto recently said that he wouldn't be opposed to re-naming Blue Slide Park in Mac Miller's honor but the community would have to be open to this as well.
