In the wake of Astroworld's release, Travis Scott has been more active than ever before. While some more cynical viewers may correlate his increased visibility with an attempt to boost sales, others have chalked it up to simple joie de vivre. After all, why wouldn't Travis be happy? The man has a massively successful brand, coming off one of the year's most anticipated albums; creative fulfillment can go a long way. In any case, Travis has been quick to spread the love, and now, his generosity has proved extremely beneficial for one of his fans.
According to TMZ, Travis Scott has hooked up one of his fans, Peter Valdriz, with $800 to cover his mother's funeral costs. Valdriz originally reached out during Travis' Oprah-esque cash giveaway, explaining that his mother recently passed away from a brain virus. Travis replied almost immediately, sending Valdriz a personal message alongside the donation. "Hope this help," he wrote, "your mama [looking down] on you." In a fateful turn, Travis' donation even landed on what would have been his mother's 52nd birthday. Apparently, Scott's goodwill has even encouraged other strangers to chip in.
The young man spoke to TMZ, explaining that Scott's gesture will not be forgotten. "Knowing that someone is out there trying to help us during this difficult time means the world to us. I personally want to thank Travis Scott for really making a tough day for my family into a day we can cherish."
