In 2008, Nas released the "Untitled" album, whose name was a controversy all to itself. On the project, Nas raps about Fox News on the track "Sly Fox." "They monopolizing news, your views/ And the channel you choose/ Propaganda, visual cancer/ The eye in the sky, number 5 on the dial/ Secret agenda, frequency antenna," he rapped about the news program. Ten years later, his words couldn't ring truer.
Fox News reporter Tucker Carlson got on television and urged viewers not to trust other news sites, prompting Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane to criticize Fox. “If you’re looking to understand what’s actually happening in this country, always assume the opposite of whatever they’re telling you on the big news stations,” Carlson said. His words make little sense, since Fox News has been on the top of news channel ratings for years. His segment was shared by CNN’s Brian Stelter on Twitter, who declared his disappointment in Carlson's statement. MacFarlane responded to the tweet with a few choice words of his own. "In other words, don’t think critically, don’t consult multiple news sources, and in general, don’t use your brain," he tweeted angrily in response to Carlson's statement via Stelter's tweet. "Just blindly obey Fox News. This is fringe shit, and it’s business like this that makes me embarrassed to work for this company."
