Beyoncé and Jay-Z once again managed to drop another bomb on the music world with their surprise joint album, Everything Is Love, which dropped in the midst of their "On The Run II" tour.
While everyone was still in shock that the album was here, The Carters also released a music video for their single "APESHIT," to accompany the project. The video finds Beyoncé and Jay in The Louvre, the French museum that contains some of the most priceless works on art on the planet, including probably the most famous painting of all time, Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa.
The museum is incredibly popular and also extremely strict, so it's crazy to imagine that they even received permission to film there in the first place. However, this is The Carters that we're talking about, and there should be little doubt that they'd be able to make something like that possible, even if they only asked for permission a very short time in advance.
According to The Fader, that's exactly what happened. With only a month before the release of the video, Jay and Bey got The Louvre to agree to allow them to shoot their video in the museum. "Beyoncé and JAY-Z visited the Louvre 4 times in the last 10 years," a statement from The Louvre staff said. "During their last visit in May 2018, they explained their idea of filming. The deadlines were very tight but the Louvre was quickly convinced because the synopsis showed a real attachment to the museum and its beloved artworks."
The museum likely received a pretty charitable donation as well, but this is definitely a testament to the power of the Carter name.
