Former Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin won't be one of the names called during the first round of tonight's NFL Draft but he'll surely be scooped up by one of the 32 teams at some point during three-day event.
Griffin made headlines this season for being a dominant force on the field, despite the fact that he only has one hand, and wowed scouts at the combine when he ran a 4.38 40-time and put up 20 reps on the bench press with a prosthetic arm.
It is expected that he'll have to wait until Friday night or Saturday afternoon before his name is called, but that's not stopping him from shooting his shot at Canadian Olympic Sprinter, Chanice Chase.
TMZ Sports recently caught up with Griffin ahead of the NFL Draft, and he encouraged the media to "let her know." Griffin also commented on Chase's most recent IG post, "I see you mama," to which she responded with a heart and lock emoji.
Whether Shaquem Griffin's romance with Chanice Chase flourishes or not, he will be ready and motivated to play for which ever team drafts him. Speaking on Wednesday, Griffin said:
“I don’t have a chip on my shoulder,” Griffin said, according to Yahoo Sports. “I have chips. I have a bag of chips. Everyone else can have a chip. I need more than that.”
“You can say I have one hand and look at me whatever way you want. At the end of the day I play football.”
