The Shreveport Police Department has reported that UFC flyweight Andrea Lee has been assaulted by her husband in an incident taking place between August 4th and the wee hours of August 5th. You may recall the public outpouring that ensued when Andrea defended her husband after pictures of his Swastika tattoos surfaced on the net back in June. Lee responded to such criticism by stating that her and husband were no racist because they held dinner dates with "ethnic couples," words that landed in even hotter water.
Now it seems the married couple are no longer mutually supportive, but at odds with one another. A police report indicates that during the fracas a weapon was produced by either Lee or husband Donny Aaron. Their roommate MMA fighter Andy Nguyen has confirmed that she gave an eye-witness account of the fight to police responding to her distress call.
Her statement read: "He was trying to choke her, but she was defending herself well, she didn’t get beat up bad. The police did take pictures of marks on her neck. Wasn’t bad this time. No black eyes or anything but he has hit her before. I just wasn’t there. He was my coach and my friend. This was the first time this was in my presence and I was not going to let this fly."
In her report, Andy Nguyen said she was aware the couple had a history of domestic abuse issues, but had never seen anything first hand. Donny Aaron and Andrea Lee have been married for approximately 5 years, and have a child together aged 6 years old.
