50 Cent has been teasing fans with his fifth studio album, Street King Immortal, for quite some time now. At one point 50 started releasing singles, including the stand-out track with Kendrick Lamar, "We Up," but since then he's fallen back once more. We haven't received an update on the album since January, when it was pushed back til Spring. More recently, Fif has just been in the news for his baby mama drama.
Now 50 Cent has spoken to MTV on the long-awaited album, saying, he's in no rush to get it out, and that he doesn't need the money anyways.
"I don't really need the money off of the record. I want the record to be right. I'm not doing it without a plan; I'm not putting it out like that," 50 said. He went on to say he also needs the support of his label, Interscope, so he has to wait until they're ready. "It's a lot of staff changes, a lot of different people moving in and moving out, so you got to kind of wait until everything's right; until it's settled in," Fif said.
50 went on to compare himself to a basketball player, who has plenty of skills but no team support, "I've been on a team where I take the ball out and throw myself the alley-oop, and I take the ball out and shoot the three-pointer myself, and I take the ball out and I dunk the ball," 50 told MTV.
