"It's creativity, it's love," the Chicago rapper says of the joint project from the Carters.

Common has stuck by Kanye West despite his recent wave of controversial remarks, but his loyalty to Kanye doesn't mean he can't enjoy a Jay-Z and Beyoncé album, as he showed in a new interview with TMZ. When a photographer caught the Chicago rapper waking to his car Saturday night, he was already very familiar with Everything Is Love, the joint album the Carters released earlier in the night, "That album is dope. I love that album. I love that shit!" he said with a grin.

When asked about how he felt about a husband and wife putting out a project together, Common saw nothing buy positivity in the dynamic. "What's the matter with that, man? It's creativity, it's love," he said.

While he didn't specify whether he liked it more the new Kanye-produced material, which includes the Friday release, Nasir, it was clear that Everything Is Love is up there in terms of 2018 releases for Common. "That's one of my favorite albums of this year, point blank!" he exclaimed before closing the door on the cameraman.

At the present moment, there is a perceived rift between Jay-Z and Kanye. Last we heard from Jay-Z, he maintained the two were still friends, but acknowledged they've had something of a falling out. "That's my brother, we're beyond friends. Really, like literally, my little brother is Kanye. And like your little brother, things happen sometimes," he said. While it's unclear where they stand today, fans have speculated that a few lines on the project could be seen as shots at Kanye. Meanwhile, Kanye has one more album planned to complete his series of Wyoming projects: Teyana Taylor's Keep That Same Energy, due out this coming Friday.
