Fortnite is one of the most popular video games on the planet right now. If you haven't played it yet, you've definitely heard of it. Game developer Epic Games only released Fortnite a year ago, but its battle royale style gameplay and innovative building mechanism made it an instant hit. It isn't just the gaming community that is going mad for Fortnite either. The hip-hop world has been married to Fortnite ever since Drake got on a live stream with world renown streamer Ninja and broke viewership records while playing the game. Since then, several rappers have voiced their support for Fortnite, including Lil Yachty.
Yachty was at the Fortnite Pro-Am competition at E3 this past week when TMZ caught up with him. E3 is the biggest video game expo in the US, and this was the first year Fortnite had a large presence there. Ultimately, Ninja and his teammate DJ Mashmello won the competition. No one was surprised. TMZ asked Yachty about his own skills at the game, and who he thought was the best rapper to pick up the Fortnite sticks. "What are your 'Fortnite' skills like, are you Ninja status?" asks the reporter. "Hell nah," exclaims the young rapper before admitting that Ninja is a friend of his. "Some of his skills rub off," stated Yachty, who plays with Ninja occasionally.
When asked if he was the best Fortnite playing rapper, Yachty quickly shot that idea down. Then the reporter asked him who he thought was the G.O.A.T. Fortnite gaming rapper. "I don't know," began Yachty. "I've never seen too many rappers play... seen Drake. He really not that good." Shots fired.
