All signs appear to be pointing to Illinois rapper, Juice WRLD, being the next up to get huge. His hit singles, "All Girls Are The Same" and "Lucid Dreams" (which will be getting a remix from Lil Uzi Vert in the near future), have propelled him to Soundcloud fame and a sweet $3 million record deal with Interscope.
Now it appears that Juice is ready to solidify his place in the game, confirming on Instagram yesterday that a whole new project will be arriving in the near future, perhaps even as soon as tonight.
The video shows Juice dancing along to an unreleased track in the Interscope Records offices. The song is a melodic, auto-tuned banger about partying, smoking on loud, and doing codeine with white people. Three perfectly acceptable ways to pass the time. In the caption he writes, "PROJECT TOMORROW NIGHT 🖤🖤🖤," which, based on the time difference, could mean that the project will be arriving some time tonight.
Juice WRLD shows that hip-hop's continued obsession with emo music has yet to finish. While Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Redd, and Lil Peep (R.I.P.) have been spearheading this movement, it's now gotten to the point where emerging artists are getting signed to big record deals off the strength of this wave.
