The World Cup is almost here. Every four years, artists are given the change to perform for over 2 billion people worldwide during the finale of the World Cup. Several famous artists, from Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, to Toni Braxton and Ricky Martin, have been given the opportunity to construct the official anthem for the Cup. This year's tournament will be held in Russia from June 14th to July 15th, and according to multiple sources, Will Smith is on board to create the official anthem for 2018.
Some people like to belittle Smith's rap career, but the man is a legend. He was awarded to first-ever rap Grammy, and then boycotted the event for the culture. He'd sold millions of albums across the world (Big Willie Style went nine times platinum in the US) and now he is set to perform in front of the entire world. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smith will join Nicky Jam and Kosovo singer Era Istrefi to perform the anthem.
According to a recent interview with Nicky Jam's manager Juan Diego Medina that aired on W Radio, Jam and Smith were in Budapest wrapping up the record, which is set to be released on Friday (May 25).
