Post Malone is headed to Netflix. The rapper and singer has been cast in a new Mark Wahlberg-starring film "Wonderland," alongside Alan Arkin, Iliza Shlesinger, Bookem Woodbine, Hope Wilson and James DuMon today, reports Variety.
Wahlberg will head the cast alongside “Black Panther” breakout Winston Duke, while Peter Berg will direct.
Details are not available regarding Post Malone's role. The film is said to follow a character named Spenser as he "uncovers the truth about a sensational murder and the twisted conspiracy behind it." The movie is based on the book Robert B. Parker’s Wonderland, written by Ace AtkinsThis will be the rapper's acting debut following great commercial success in the music industry with 2016's STONEY and 2018's beerbongs and bentleys.
The jump to acting follows Post's announcement that he would be organizing his first music festival, Posty Fest. The event, scheduled to take place on October 28th will feature performances from Travis Scott, Tyler, The Creator, Lil Skies, Ski Mask The Slump God, Tierra Whack, and of course, Post himself. Over the last 12 months, Post has earned two No. 1s on the Hot 100 with "Rockstar" and "Psycho." His new single "Better Now" is currently in the top 5 on the charts.
