Although it seems like the Black Hippy rappers are loyal to each other, ScHoolboy Q still has to give props where props are due. While on MTV's RapFix Live the TDE rapper spoke on the upcoming MTV Music Video Awards, in particular the award for Best Hip-Hop Video, which pits Black Hippy's Kendrick Lamar against Macklemore.
Kendrick Lamar's "Swimming Pools" visual received a nomination in the category, as did Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us." Although the self-dubbed Puffy says he's rooting for Kendrick, he thinks Macklemore should win.
"Of course I'm rooting for Kendrick, but Macklemore probably should win. I'm pretty sure Kendrick believes that too," Q said during RapFix Live.
"We appreciate good stuff and that video was crazy. I appreciate what Macklemore did with that video; I liked it better than Kendrick's," ScHoolboy Q admitted.
The "Can't Hold Us" music video was shot over the span of 16 days in 6 different continents.
Q recently worked with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis to shoot a visual for their collaboration "White Walls," however, the rapper wouldn't give too much away about what to expect.
"It was fun. I don't want to say too much about it, give too much away. I don't know what he said and I don't want to be the one to give it away 'cause I'm featured on the song," he said. "But it's pretty cool, it's fun, it's energetic. It kind of reminds me of my old record 'Hands on the Wheel' that I dropped last year."
