Kodak Black is a changed man these days. While he may state to be the same old Kodak on his latest album, you can tell that he's evolved a lot as a human being. The Florida rapper has relocated to Calabasas, rebranding his image to become a "Suburban Dude." In his raps though, you can tell he's still street. After spending some time in prison, Kodak is making sure to load his fans with tons of content, releasing plenty of new music on Dying To Live and accompanying some of the tracks with music videos. Last week, we saw "Testimony" in video form and today, the rapper has unleashed his lo-fi clip for "Close To The Grave."
The video is simple; Kodak walks on the sidewalk carrying a shovel as he croons about how he never should have let somebody get so close to him. Finally, he finds a decent spot and starts digging, quite literally displaying his thematic scheme on screen. There's not much to the clip. If it weren't for the glitzy editing techniques used, this would probably appear to be an iPhone video of the rapper walking around with a shovel. Thankfully, some work was put in in postproduction but this is definitely a low-budget video if we've ever seen one.
