Nike's annual celebration of Kobe Bryant on 8/24, aka "Mamba Day," will include the retail debut of the Nike Kobe A.D., an updated take on Kobe's most recent signature sneaker. The kicks first surfaced at the Drew League in Cali over the weekend on the feet of San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan, as well as Kobe himself, but have since been revealed in black and purple colorway.
According to Sole Collector, the Nike Kobe A.D. 2018 is constructed of a mesh upper featuring a looped speed lacing system and Zoom Air cushioning. Additional details include a series of numbers in yellow on the tongue, including both of Kobe's jersey numbers, as well as his birth year.
It is believed the multi-color version of the Nike Kobe A.D. 2018, as worn by Kobe and DeRozan, will be available next Friday, August 24 in honor of "Mamba Day," though it's still unclear when this black/purple/yellow joint will be available.
