The #MeToo movement was spearheaded by several women, but Asia Argento and Rose McGowan were at the head of the activists. Both Argento and McGowan shared a common enemy, Harvey Weinstein. The disgraced movie producer sexually assaulted both women, and attempted to cover it up. While Argento deals with her own sexual assault scandal, McGowan is taking aim at those whose voices shake halls but actions cease to exist.
McGowan sat down with U.K. publication The Times, and explained why she feels that the #MeToo movement in Hollywood is full of snakes in the grass. “I just think they’re douchebags," she began. "They’re not champions. I just think they’re losers. I don’t like them. How do I explain the fact that I got a GQ Man of the Year award and no women’s magazines and no women’s organisations have supported me?”
"It’s all bullshit. It’s a lie," she continued, while agreeing with one notion from Trump supporters. “They hate Hollywood for being faux liberals — and they’re 100% right about that. It’s a bunch of faux liberals. It’s crap, and they know it is deep down, but they’re living an empty life, and to me that’s their punishment. They get to live the lives they live," McGowan explained.
