Kanye West is getting the best publicity he'shad in a long time, thanks to his rapid Twitter comments. Last week, before the stack of new ones that have been sent out today, Kanye tweeted that he loves "the way Candace Owens thinks." Miss Candace is a Black woman who thinks Black people use their grandparent's slavery stories as a crutch and want to be oppressed. Since his one tweet, people came back at him not sure if he agrees with her opinion or if he just agrees with how much of a free thinker she is.
Janelle Monae, the "I Like That" singer who's set to drop her Dirty Computer album this Friday, may consider Kanye an inspiration but she's by no means inspired by his tweet about Candace. "Well, one, I don't agree with him if that is true and he is supporting anybody who thinks that, then I don't agree with him at all," Janelle said while chatting with Ebro in the Morning.
"I believe in free thinking but I don’t believe in free thinking if it's rooted in or at the expense of the oppressed. If your free thinking is used as fuel by oppressors to continue to express black people and minorities, I think it's bullshit and it's not OK. I will speak out against it and I will think freely and tell you that I don't agree with you."
She added: "He obviously has inspired me, you know, as an artist. I don't know where he is mentally, you know, I'm not close with him."
