Last year's rumors of a relationship between Jennifer Lopez and Drake was always somewhat shrouded in mystery, but the two of them were definitely friendly with each other. The ultimate culmination of their coupling was "Teenage Fever," a stand-out track on Drake's More Life album/mixtape. The track featured a prominent, slowed-down sample of Lopez's "If You Had My Love," which appeared on her debut album, On the 6, back in 1999.
Whether or not there was any bad blood between the two is unknown, but Lopez definitely enjoyed the song, because she recently took the opportunity to do a cover of Drake's verse during a live performance at the Time 100 Gala.
Lopez was picked as one of Time Magazine's top 100 most influential people of the year, alongside Cardi B and Rihanna. She attended the gala in a low cut dress and sequined bodysuit, where she sings a portion of "If You Had My Love" before switching things up and covering a verse off of "Teenage Fever." The idea of someone rapping over a sample of their own voice is interesting, to say the least, but Lopez makes it work.
Lopez is now happily dating former Yankee, Alex Rodriguez, and attended the gala with him that night. She posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram, which read, "Always feel so blessed to share special moments of my life with this beautiful soul... Thank you @time for the honor and for an amazing night!!"
