A$AP Rocky speaks about his influences and making his first album without A$AP Yams' guidance.

There has been much confusion surrounding A$AP Rocky's upcoming album for the last few months. While it was expected to drop last year, it was pushed back as the A$AP Mob member wanted to focus more on business. He has been teasing the crash test dummy theme on his socials and in posters around New York City for a while as it appears that Testing is finally nearing a release. With the album cover being shared recently, all we are waiting for now is a release date and further tracklist information. As it becomes more evident that Testing could drop any day now with the album being complete, Rocky gave an exclusive interview with Complex to speak about his most recent musical undertakings.

Testing is set to be Rocky's third studio album but it is his first without the guidance of A$AP Yams, who has been remembered vividly since his untimely passing due to an accidental overdose. Speaking on his album process, the rapper told Complex, "It wasn't the same without Yams. It's like any legacy that loses a pioneer: you gotta keep goin'. Yams is a spirit, he's an energy. He was always about discovering new talent and trying to put new people on." Additionally, Rocky reveals that we can expect a possible Kanye collaboration on the album, noting that they've worked on "a lot of music" together, with some of it intended for Testing.

Without going too far into detail, Rocky and Ye apparently shut down a hotel, turning one room into a Yeezy design sector, another into Kanye's studio and another into Rocky's studio, combining forces for a few days to collaborate and bounce ideas off of the other. As we wait for news about the album, check out what Rocky had to say in his interview below.
