Snapchat recently unveiled a redesign that left many users feeling bewildered by its laborious mechanics. Twitter has been flooded with criticism and outright hatred from individuals who yearn for the simpler days of yore. As a result, the company has decided to rework its existing interface in lieu of all the negativity they've received lately.
Snapchat has released a statement about these tests, noting how "we are always listening to our community and will continue to test updates that we hope will give Snapchatters the best possible experience on our platform."
The goal of the initial redesign was to make the app easier to use for its massive following, including those outside the company's core teenage demographic.
Snapchat is trialing a version of the app that will place personal stories, alongside ones from celebrities or brands together on the Discover page.
1.25 million people signed a change.org petition to bring back the company's older and more beloved interface. High profile celebrity Snapchat addicts including Chrissy Teigen and Kylie Jenner also voiced unfavourable opinions about the redesign.
