Yesterday, A$AP Bari posted a video that seemed to hint at the potential release of a collaborative mixtape between Playboi Carti and Skepta. The dude is dealing with some legal issues, but he had time to serve us some tea. Say your homie sends you the text below. What's your reaction? One of mine got this text and got excited. Most of us missed out since the video was removed shortly after it was posted.
The possibility of this kind of project doesn't come as much of a surprise since the two have worked together in the past. Skepta offered his London swag on Carti's last album Die Lit on "Lean 4 Real." The track gives us an idea of what a whole project featuring both artists might sound like. Plus, Skepta's link to Carti's homie, ASAP Rocky, adds to the plausibility of a joint effort. We also know what the pair look like together. Giovanni Corabi shot them for Wonderland Magazine last year.
For now, we are left with rumors and speculations, but the idea is still exciting. Both artists have been putting in work lately. Skepta was credited as one of the writers on Kanye West's last release. He has also been working on some visuals for his track "Pure Water" and is embarking on a summer tour real soon. Carti announced tour dates of his own. The music video for "RIP" is already out too, so you can check it out here. Who's got their fingers crossed? Sound off.
