Pharrell Williams and Chanel are combining to their hustles to offer the public an exclusive fashion line. The rapper is teaming up with the brand's creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, for the production of a ready-to-wear capsule collection. The new gear is set to debut exclusively in March 2019 at Chanel's Seoul flagship store before spreading to other Chanel boutiques worldwide on April 4.
Photos of the upcoming collection have yet to be revealed. Still, Pharrell may have teased parts of what fans could expect from the launch earlier this week, during the Chanel Cruise show in Thailand. The producer was photographed wearing a bright yellow hoodie embellished with stitched iterations of the luxury house's logo. The term "Coco Pharrell" was placed in the center of the piece. Fashion enthusiasts are speculating about how this fit might represent his streetwear sensibility in combination with Chanel's luxe aesthetic.
Pharrell wore another piece by the brand during his trip. This time, the color of his hoodie was somber and featured the Coco Chanel insignia on a larger scale. The classic brand's feel was also represented in the choice of velvet-like fabric.
This isn't a first for the Pharrell-Lagerfeld partnership. Williams was enlisted for the brand's 2014 short film, Reincarnation.
