Yesterday we posted about some pretty exciting news that suggested Chance The Rapper would be dropping new music this week. The evidence came from a recent interview where he explained that his tape would be available before the Special Olympics this Saturday. The idea was even more exciting since the last tape we got from Chance was Coloring Book that came out two years ago.
Unfortunately, we'll have to take a rain check since Chance announced that his plans for new music this week have been halted. "Sorry no album this week, def been in the stu tho," he tweeted. The exact album Chance is set to drop is still a surprise to us. He has been said to be working on a tape with Childish Gambino and another one with Kanye West.
Considering the hold-up, it's a safe bet to assume it could be the Kanye tape considering the past issues with all the G.O.O.D. Music releases.
“It has been difficult for me to release music with artists who work with the major [labels],” Chance previously said. “A lot of stuff I’ve worked on hasn’t come out since ‘Coloring Book’ because it’s hard."
He continued: “I got that feeling when people do something that has a new feel to it. I’m excited for everybody to get that. It’s going to come out just in time for the Special Olympics.”
