Michael Moore puts forth an intriguing conspiracy theory involving Donald Trump and Gwen Stefani.

Everyone is still trying to figure out why Donald Trump actually ran for president, and while we might never think of a reasonable reason other than his ego, the Internet has provided some interesting theories. The latest theory comes from an interview by the Hollywood Reporter with documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, where he claims that Trump’s interest in the presidency was sparked by his jealousy for Gwen Stefani.

According to Moore, Trump learned that Stefani was earning more from NBC for her role on The Voice than he was on The Apprentice. In response, he apparently staged his presidential candidacy, with no intent to actually become president, to secure a higher pay rate from NBC. Shortly after he announced his bid, Trump’s talk of immigrants as “rapists and criminals” cut his contract with NBC to a tight end. So much for beating out Gwen.
