Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie, and Angelica are back.

Rugrats is a classic in the eyes of 90's babies. The Nickelodeon series introduced kids to Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie, and Angelica. The adventurous babies all had distinct personalities. For instance, Chuckie was the kid who was scared of everything, meanwhile, Tommy was the de facto leader. Nickelodeon attempted to give the cartoon series new life when they launched All Grown Up! in the early 2000's, and the show did moderately well. Still, nothing could compare to the original series, a conclusion that Nickelodeon must have come to recently.

According to VarietyNickelodeon and Paramount are set to relaunch the Rugrats series. Rugrats creators Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó, and Paul Germain are set to return as executive producers. There will be both a new television series, for which Nickelodeon has already ordered 26 episodes, and a new movie. The movie will be a live-action flick featuring CGI characters.

COO of Viacom Media Networks and interim president of Nickelodeon Sarah Levy stated that, “Rugrats is hands-down one of the most celebrated cartoons in TV history, and we are thrilled for a whole new audience to meet these iconic characters in brand-new adventures." The Rugrats movie is slated to hit theaters on November 13, 2020.
