For some reason, the man who killed 17 innocent lives at his high school in Parkland, Florida is getting tons of fan mail while he's facing the death penalty at The Broward County Jail. The Sun Sentinel reports that 17-year-old Nikolas Cruz has been flooded with love notes and money from teen girls in different states.
Some of the letters include sexual photographs, letters of encouragement, greeting cards and more.
“In my 40 years as public defender, I’ve never seen this many letters to a defendant,” Nikolas' public defender Howard Finkelstein explained. “Everyone now and then gets a few, but nothing like this.” He added: “The letters shake me up because they are written by regular, everyday teenage girls from across the nation. That scares me. It’s perverted.”
The publication got its hands on some of the notes and honestly, it's pretty disturbing.
"You’re in a tough spot, Nik, and that is something I know, because I’ve been there myself,” one person wrote to him. “If you need something, I can mail to you...ask. If you need to talk...I’ll listen.”
“When I saw your picture on the television, something attracted me to you,” an 18-year-old woman from Texas wrote. “Your eyes are beautiful and the freckles on your face make you so handsome.”
Nikolas does not get to see all the letters that have been sent to him. Howard told the publication that they read him the "religious ones that extended wishes for his soul and to come to God."
