Kanye West's name seems to be brought up pretty much everywhere these days, so it was only a matter of time before Wendy Williams weighed in. The TV personality was asked for her take on Kanye and his recent string of controversial statements at Vulture Festival this weekend, and it seems she's worried about his mental health.
“I think that mental illness is something that is so real. A lot of people in jail right now, if they could’ve just gotten through some mental illness counseling, [wouldn’t be incarcerated],” she said. “As long as I’m here and you’re listening, I will tell you I feel very, very bad for Kanye West. His father is nowhere in the picture, his mom passed away trying to beautify herself to be a stage mom. I’m not going to talk about his wife, his family, or anything like that. But what I will tell you is that he’s not well. That is the very foundation of everything he says. He’s not well. I wish him well.”
Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian, has spoken out against assumptions about her husband's mental health. "To the media trying to demonize my husband let me just say this... your commentary on Kanye being erratic & his tweets being disturbing is actually scary. So quick to label him as having mental health issues for just being himself when he has always been expressive is not fair," she said. In a recent interview with Ellen, Kim said Kanye is doing "really good" as he focuses on his upcoming albums. However, she did joke that the chaos around his recent behavior had resulted in her first grey hair.
