Following the Philadelphia 76ers' series-clinching victory over the Miami Heat in Game 5 last night, Sixers' All-Star center Joel Embiid made a point to celebrate with some notable courtside fans, including comedian Kevin Hart and Meek Mill, who was released from prison just hours before tip off.
Embiid, who finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds in the Sixers' 104-91 win, picked up Hart like a small child after eliminating the Heat.
In addition to the on-court celebration, Joel Embiid also spoke about Meek Mill during the post-game press conference.
"When he was in jail, i went to visit him. He was't feeling good. You could tell he was trying to hold on... I was just excited he got to witness this. I know he's always representing the city and loves this city so much."
"For him to come to this type of game ... I was just happy," Embiid said.
Last night's win marked the Sixers' first playoff series win in six years, and just their second over the last 14 years. They'll take on the winner of the Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks series in the second round. The Celtics currently lead 3-2 as the series shifts back to Milwaukee for Game 6 tomorrow night.
