G-Eazy dedicated a performance to Mac Miller just hours after his death.

On Friday (September 7th) we were all rocked by headlines of Mac Miller’s death from an apparent drug overdose. Among those particularly hit was his friend and fellow emcee G-Eazy, who had to perform a show in Tampa just hours after news broke of the 26-year old’s passing.

As a result, he was among one of the first artists who would get the opportunity to pay their proper respects by dedicating a portion of their performance to the Pittsburgh rapper.

“I swear, life is so fucking fragile," he said during an emotional performance of “Everything Will Be OK” before the crowd gathered at Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Ampitheatre. "Appreciate the moment. Be present in it. Tell people you love you care about them."

Before taking to the stage, he uploaded a tribute to Mac, uploading an old photo of the duo backstage together.

“Completely devastated and heart broken I’m at a loss for words mac you were like a brother to me and were there for me in the hardest of times, especially this summer,” he wrote. “I can’t believe this is real. Please tell your friends and the people you care about you love them life is so fucking fragile. You will be missed and your music will live on forever through the millions of people you touched. Thank you for all you gave us, love you bro.”

The same show had the likes of Ty Dolla $ign and Lil Uzi Vert billed to perform, with each act paying tribute to Mac Miller in some way while photos of the late rapper commanded the giant screens in the venue.
