GM Bob Myers' outlook on NBA free agency differs from Steve Kerr's, as it pertains to "Boogie" Cousins.

Steve Kerr went out his way yesterday to declare that DeMarcus Cousins was likely only a one-and-done option for the Golden State Warriors this season. It's not so much what he said about DeMarcus, but why he chose to speak (on the topic) in the first place. There is an unsubstantiated belief the comments may have been spurred by Cousins' ejection the other night, while he remained seated as DNP.

Evidently, Cousins will be chasing the big bucks in the offseason considering he's in smack in the middle of his peak years as an NBA talent, the stretch of his career where he stands to land the most lucrative long-term contract. "We made no bones about it when we signed him,” Kerr said. “It’s a one-year deal. We’re not going to have money to sign him next year. He knows that," stated the direct and outspoken, if not charming, head coach of the Golden State Warriors.

But it appears Golden State's owner may have other plans if the checkbook balances out this summer. "Options are open, Pap; like anything. If you would've asked me a year ago before this if he was gonna be an option for us, I'd say, 'No way, that's crazy!' But he came. He came for a lot less than his market value was," Warriors' GM Bob Myers told  Greg Papa in a sit-down interview which aired on Warriors Pregame Live."

He closed the discussion by admitting that he doesn't know how the 2019 offseason will shakedown for Durant, Klay or Boogie. "You don't know if it's going to be better than you think...but it's not going to be what you think. So, with a guy like DeMarcus, who knows? If he wants to come back, let's bring him back," he added.
