The Weeknd's been sharing a lot of glimpses of recent studio sessions. He's been working on his forthcoming album but like most things he does, it's been a mystery. Earlier this week, the Toronto crooner shared a screenshot of a text conversation he had with his creative director, La Mar Taylor, which hinted at the possibility that he'll be dropping something new this week. It was pretty ambiguous and could've been anything from merch to tour ideas or even his upcoming Marvel comic book. However, the speculation was true and he just confirmed that his new album, My Dear Melancholy will drop tonght.
After much speculation, The Weeknd has confirmed that he'll be dropping his new album, My Dear Melancholy tonight. The singer took to Instagram to share the cover art for it, along with the caption, "tonight." The rumors around the album were sparked even further when a Billboard popped up in London that read, "My Dear Melancholy, New Album from The Weeknd." So thankfully, we'll be able to get some new music from The Weeknd this evening.
The amount of information pertaining to the project has been scarce. However, Travis Scott did share a tidbit of info on what to expect a few weeks a go. The rapper tweeted, "Abel new album is scray. It’s like when I first heard him for the first time. Fuckkkkkk !!!!!" It looks like The Weeknd's next album might have similarities to his debut project, House Of Balloons.
