Fans of the classic Bill & Ted series were excited when news broke that Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter were returning for a threequel. Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure helped skyrocket Reeves to fame in the late 80's and early 90's. Reeves recently spoke with Yahoo Entertainment though, a revealed that the third movie in the franchise is facing some troubles with production.
According to Reeves, there are still many challenges that the production team must overcome to make Bill & Ted 3 a reality. “I don’t know if it’s a reality,” Reeves stated. “We’ve been trying for a long time to get that film made, and it still has its challenges.” It doesn't seem like the lack of enthusiasm is coming from Reeves' side of things, as the actor is known to be a hard worker. “I really love the characters, and I think we have a good story to tell," he continued. "Part of it is show business stuff — financing, rights, deals. Nothing creatively." He also commented on reprising the role of Ted “Theodore” Logan. "It’ll be interesting to see what that’s like,” he said. “There’d be a lot about him that would be the same, I’m sure; his kind of optimistic naïveté in the face of the darkness will still be there. He has a child now, so I’m sure he’s matured.”
