The trailer for HBO's Westworld premiered shortly after the station stopped broadcasting last night to reveal their plans to that a second season will debut shortly.
The clip is soundtracked by an orchestral arrangement of Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box," setting a grim tone for the upcoming series of events. The short, yet-telling montage depicts Bernard's internal struggle to cope with what he is with Dolores assuring him that there is a beauty and worthiness to his existence. Maeve is on a quest to find her daughter, who may just be a figment of her imagination as opposed to a corporeal reality.
Westworld's sister park Shogunworld is also briefly alluded to, with Ed Harris' character revealing "I'm gonna burn this thing to the ground." The clip ends on a particularly chilling note, with Dolores asking Bernard "why on earth would you ever be frightened of me?"
Peep the trailer below in anticipation of its spring premiere.
