McGregor remains in plea negotiations according to reports.

The last time Conor McGregor was in New York City he was throwing guard rails and hand trucks at a bus full of UFC fighters following the UFC 223 Media Day at Barclays Center. As a result of the melee that took place in early April, McGregor was charged with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor counts of assault, attempted assault, menacing and reckless endangerment.

It was a different scene in New York today when the 29-year old Irish superstar returned to Brooklyn Criminal Court for his hearing.

According to the New York Post, Prosecutor Janet Gleeson said no grand jury action has been taken, which means McGregor and his co-defendant/training partner Cian Cowley, have not yet been indicted on felony criminal mischief charges.

The hearing was reportedly brief, lasting just a minute or two, but there were plenty of reporters waiting to speak with McGregor has he left the courthouse.

“I regret my actions that led to today,” McGregor read from a prepared statement, according to the New York Post. “I understand the seriousness of this matter and I am hopeful this can get worked out. Thank you, everyone.”

McGregor and Cowley are scheduled to appear in court again on July 26. According to ESPN's Brett Okomato, McGregor's legal team and the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office said negotiations for a potential plea deal are ongoing.

Once the legal issues are resolved, it is expected that McGregor will challenge current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was the alleged target of his attack at Barclays Center.
