Royce Da 5'9" is having an excellent year, having dropped two albums, including his arguable magnum opus Book Of Ryan. Now, the Detroit legend continues his press tour, taking a minute to chop it up with Rap-Up about his relationship with Eminem. During the conversation, he dropped a teaser that will no doubt have fans chomping at the bit. While it's been previously teased, hearing vocal confirmation from Royce himself makes a Bad Meets Evil sequel less fantasy, more reality.
“The chances are pretty good,” Royce teased. “He’s stronger than ever and I’m stronger than ever. It’s just a time thing. It’s very hard to dictate what the time is gonna do." While that's far from a concrete yes, it's clear that the pair have discussed the idea. It's been a minute since the original project dropped in 2011, and while we've received a smattering of bangers like "All I Think About" and "Psychopath Killer," it feels like somewhat of a drought where Bad Meets Evil is concerned.
The duo recently shared the mic on Royce's Book Of Ryan cut "Caterpillar," where many praised Eminem's ostensible return to his roots. Admittedly, Revival was dubbed by many as "too pop;" while perhaps the claims held merit, it's difficult to fully commit to criticizing the project given Em's positive mental state. Clearly, Royce seems to agree, referring to his longtime friend and collaborator as "stronger than ever." If we're lucky, the two rap heavyweights can find the time to make something happen. Dare I say the game needs it.
