With Easter coming up this weekend, Fetty Wap is giving back to those less fortunate this year. On Tuesday, the New Jersey rapper decided to hit up his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey, and team up with Price Rite for a gift card giveaway at the local mall. According to NorthJersey.com, hundreds of people lined up outside of the Center City Mall in Jersey to try & meet the "Trap Queen" rapper and get some extra cash for their holiday dinners.
“Anything I can do to help especially with my hometown I’m going to always be there,” Fetty Wap said, who also recalled his days of living on food stamps. “Coming from not having anything to being able to do a lot more than what I did growing up, to be able to live a different lifestyle, it kind of really empowered me to help as many people as I could.”
“We’re very excited to have somebody who loves the city as much as us come into the store and want to give back,” said Marie Sweeney-Tevis, the director of marketing and community relations for Inserra Supermarkets. “That’s really great.”
This isn't the first time Fetty Wap is giving back to his community in Paterson either. Back in November, he gave away 500 turkeys for Thanksgiving, the third year he's done so.
